The Mountain Pass Tour:
From gold rush to mountain lore, see it all.
The Mountain pass is our signature tour and has a little bit of everything for everyone. The mountain pass tour starts in downtown Dahlonega and takes about 1.5 hours to wonder through the mountain roads of north Georgia, ending up back in downtown Dahlonega for drop off.
The tour dips off-road into the backwoods trials of the Chattahoochee National Forest road system to climb up the back of the mountains themselves. We will climb the southern part of the Blue Ridge mountain range, and ride along the back of the range for about half our journey and then descend off the mountain top back into paved roads.
Along the way in the woods, you’ll get some great views from on high, and surely some off-road thrills as we wind along the mountain path. We will stop at a few points of interest including a small roadside water fall and spectacular long valley views for pictures. You might even see some wildlife along the way!
Once back on the pavement, the journey continues down the Blue Ridge mountains where even more long views await, and stories of the backwoods carry on.
Along the entire route, our guide will share with you the history of this mountains across the last 500 years, and how they have had such an impact in so many people’s lives.
